What essential oils do I always have with me? I will share what I always have on the go in this post all about packing an essential oil purse kit.

When I go anywhere, you can bet I have at least my “emergency kit” of oils with me.

I am saying emergency with a bit of jest of course, but in a way, I do feel like they come to our aid in many situations and make our day better, and help us feel better. On the occasion that I have forgotten my little oil kit or have run out of something, I am not a happy camper!

PACKING AN ESSENTIAL OIL PURSE KIT VIDEO:

Reasons for Packing an Essential Oil Purse Kit

  1. I like to be prepared – Things come up when I’m out, and I like to be able to quickly reach for an oil, without having to think of what I need and where I’m going to get it.
  2. Emotional/mental support – When I’m out, stresses and situations are more likely to come up and oils can help me handle those feelings and issues.
  3. Healthy and natural option – Being away from home can sometimes cause me to have to grab what is available and convenient, not necessarily the best options.

WHAT I PUT MY ESSENTIAL OILS IN:

I have two sweet friends that have each given me a little zippered pouch to keep essential oils in. One I keep my roller bottles in and the other I keep regular oil bottles in.

(Here is where you can find these pouches —> purple pouch, hard shell case)

Pouches made for oils is a great way to carry them because they will hold them still and securely without fear of breaking, leakage or having to dig around your purse looking for what you need.

If you sew, I have seen some great ideas for sew your own oily pouches floating around Pinterest!

How to pack a handy essential oil kit to keep on hand when you're on the go!

HERE ARE THE ESSENTIAL OILS I ALWAYS HAVE WITH ME:

Roller Bottles

(all rollers I made with 10-25 drops of essential oil and then topped off with sweet almond carrier oil.)

  • “Great Outdoors” – My own mix of Purification by Young Living and some lemongrass oil. Great for ankles, around head, neck and arms when spending time outside in the summer… Helps to keep buzzing annoyances at bay.
  • Perfume – Inner Child blend by Young Living and lime essential oil. I love to wear this one like a perfume, rolled on my wrists and behind my ears. This one is pretty and floral. My friends think I’m a grandma for loving! Haha!
  • “Tension Melt” – I blend peppermint and Stress Away essential oils together in this roller bottle for the perfect cooling afternoon pick me up. If I’ve been sitting at a computer and my muscles are feeling tight, or I have some tension in my head, I roll this cooling oil along my hairline and on my temples, and along the back of my neck.
  • Thieves  – A Thieves roller bottle is kept handy to roll on the bottoms of my feet and along the spine before I go out in public.
  • Stress Away – This roller is pure bliss. When the running around town with 2 little kids gets the best of me, I whip this bad boy out and it calms me right down. Total lifesaver for me!
  • Deep Relief – Deep Relief is a blend made by Young Living and it is amazing. It does what the name says. My husband especially loves this one and feels like magic rubbed on. Very cooling and tingly.

Oils

  • Lemon Vitality – (Watch my video to learn more about the Vitality line of oils. It is Young Living’s line of oils for internal use!) I like to carry this to add to water in a stainless bottle or in a glass. Never drink oils out of plastic! It is also amazing for getting gunk and sticky goo off of anything, skin included. Sticker gunk, temporary tattoos, etc. A drop on the skin rubbed in and then washed will help remove the yuck!
  • Thieves Vitality – I like to have this on hand on the occasion that I decide I need a drop! I can search out a hot cup of tea and add one drop of this and drink down if I feel like my body needs a boost or I have been around sick folks. It is wonderful for immune support and is a great way to give your body a little boost and help it do what it does best! If Thieves tea sounds good to you, I have the best recipe for it here!
  • TummyGize – TummyGize is a blend of pre-diluted oils for kids that is targeted for the tummy! This is actually one that I reach for the most often for my daughter and myself and my husband, It is so nice to have this option when someones tummy isn’t quite feeling up to snuff. I put 1-2 drops on the belly and rub in a circular motion. Very comforting.

Oily Products

  •  Thieves Spray – I use this to spray grocery cart handles, toilet seats, restaurant tables, etc… Basically anything you have to touch but don’t want to!
  • Thieves Hand Purifier – I’m happy to have an alternative to the chemically hand sanitizers. This has peppermint, and thieves and it doesn’t dry out  the skin.

HOW TO MAKE A ROLLER BOTTLE

10 ml glass roller bottle

Carrier oil (sweet almond, grape seed oil, jojoba oil, olive oil, etc…)

Essential oil or oils of your choice

  1. Add your essential oils first, into an empty glass roller bottle. (It depends on the strength of which oil you are using how much you add. As a rule of thumb, start with less and you can always add more if you need to.) Say you are making a lavender roller, you could add 10-20 drops of essential oil. I wouldn’t add more than 25 drops of oil to a roller total with out testing it out first before adding more.
  2. If adding more than one type oil, let the oils sit for a few minutes and blend and then finish filling the bottle the rest of the way with the carrier oil. Gently swirl the roller bottle around to blend everything together.
  3. Make sure to label the bottle so you know what you have! My favorite way to do this is with a little old school label maker! I love this thing! I label all sorts of things and it has this awesome vintage vibe and very simple and clean looking. Love it.
  4. Roll away! Some of the best places to apply oils are bottoms of the feet, along the spine, on the back of the neck and along jawline, and on the chest.

Great post. I am not faithful at either using or carrying oils. I’m a ‘oh it will be fine in a little while’ person meaning I dont jump to any treatment of anything very quickly. And i forget to get oils out unless there has been an injury. Thanks for the reminder to be more proactive.

I find that I will forget to grab them too unless I have them in all the places that I need them! Purse, car, around the house in key places where I see them and go “oh yeah! I have an oil that I can use for that!” When I used to keep all my oils in one place, like my bathroom, I would rarely run to get them.

I need me some of that Stress Away! I keep meaning to start dabbling with making my own roller bottles. I think you’ve inspired me!
