Hey there!

My name is Hope, and I’m a wife, mama, and lover of all things food, family, home and garden.

I  cook wholesome and simple food for my family, and I’m interested in natural health and wellness.

My husband and I are working to make our home into a place that we all want to be, and spend time together.

We call our little slice of the mountains Windy Ridge.

I love to grow fresh veggies and flowers in our little mountain garden… It’s always a learning process, but such a joy, nonetheless.

We homeschool our two children, keep laying hens, and love living the simple life. We can commonly be found working around the place splitting and stacking firewood, tending the garden, working on a house project or dreaming up our next homestead endeavor.

We also love to go on adventures in our area, thrifting and antiquing, visiting differant parts of the beautiful mountains, river, forest and scenic areas of our Blue Ridge Mountains.

Our homeschool days are relaxed and different from day to day.

We LOVE books, and read everyday. We believe that while teaching our children certain academics, such as to be strong and competent readers, is extremely important, the most important things to instill in them are these: A love for the Lord and a desire to know and be known by Him, how to make wise decisions, how to be kind and caring individuals, how to have critical thinking skills and independence, to be hard workers, driven and curious, and to be makers, doers, creators, and pursuers. If these qualities are taught, modeled, and practiced, whatever skills, academics, facts or education they need to know, acquire, or seek in the future will be totally within their grasp. We are extremely thankful and blessed to have the opportunity to educate our children ourselves and it is a huge joy in our life.

This space here, my blog, has been the culmination of years of dreaming, hoping, trying, failing and trying again.

Whatever comes out of it, whether it is a success or a flop, I just pray that somehow our life, our stories, and our experiences can somehow be helpful and edifying to other people. and most importantly, I hope that our readers would little by little, always be pointed back to the Creator.

“But God shows His love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
