How Do You Make a Chore Chart for Kids?

You don’t have to over complicate things. Think about the maturity level of your child and the things that they are already good at helping with.

Add to those things one or two new jobs that you want them to take over. Spend a few days teaching them the proper way to do the job (in a light-hearted, kind way) and explain to them that you have confidence in their ability to be a helper for the household!

Take those chores you decided on on write them down clearly in a prominent place for your child to be able to see.

If they are not reading yet, you can draw little pictures that represent each task.

How to Print and Use This Chore Chart for Kids Printable

  • Print out the chart at the bottom of this article.
  • Slide chart into a page protector slip, or laminate the chart. (I have a Scotch laminator and use it all the time!)
  • Write the chores any way you would like on the chart with a permanent marker. Yes, you read that right! Did you know that you can write in a Sharpie marker on lamination and it will rub right off clean when you use a Magic Eraser sponge!
  • Then you can give you kid a dry erase marker to check off each job when they complete it!
