Every May, the calendar gives us a special opportunity to take extra time to make our Mama’s feel loved! I hope one of these low cost Mother’s Day gift ideas helps you come up with just the right way to say I Love You to your Mom!

Whether you have time to make your Mama something Special, or would like to buy her something this year, here are some Low Cost Mother’s Day Gift Ideas any mother would love.

“Mother’s are like buttons. They hold everything together.”

Mamas are all different, and like different things. Some mothers love to garden and be outside in nature. Other moms are jewelry lovers or coffee drinkers.

But one thing good mamas have in common is their kiddos. Young or grown, mamas love their families and their kids.

Lots of unique ideas for low cost Mother's Day gift ideas! Even a free printable Mother's Day card!

Apparently I’m making this post a bit of a habit. Here is a Mother’s Day Gift Guide I put together several years ago! Maybe you will find a good idea over there. But then come back here, okay?

Low Cost Mother’s Day Ideas… Some Handmade and Some Store bought.

I think every single person growing up, has at some point gifted their mother some sort of strange little handmade gift that looks like a real weird piece of junk, but to mama, it was a priceless jewel. (Or at least she made you think it was.)

We don’t necessarily want to revisit those days… But there are plenty of handmade gift ideas out there that will bring a genuine pleased reaction from your favorite mama! And if you want to grab a ready-to-go gift online? I have a few ideas in here for that, too.

**Font in the design of this card has changed slightly since these photos were taken, expect minor differences.

Start out on the right foot with this free printable Mother’s Day card that I created for you!

Print it out onto watercolor paper for an extra special luxe touch, and add some soft, hand painted watercolors to make it really personal and from the heart. It’s a very simple project to do, so don’t be intimidated! Grab any watercolors you have in your home and a small brush and you’re set!

Beautiful Photo Framed in a Special Way

Mom’s love nothing quite as much as printed photos of their loved ones, especially children and grandchildren. I found this really unique and pretty photo frame that has a little flower vase attached to it! How lovely would this be with a special photo of you and your mom, or her with her grandchildren!

Wooden Bead Essential Oil Diffuser Necklace

My first handmade Mother’s Day gift idea for you is this easy-to-make Wooden Bead Essential Oil Diffuser Necklace ! A super simple, yet lovely gift for any mom who likes to wear jewelry, and would enjoy having a way to catch a whiff of her favorite essential oil fragrance throughout the day.

This pretty little handmade necklace along with a bottle of essential oil would make a fantastic Mother’s Day gift!

“Sometimes… When I open my mouth my mother comes out.”

Essential Oil Bath Salts

Another lovely and relaxing gift for your mom is homemade bath salts. Bath salts for a soothing soak is one of the easiest gifts to make at home!

Check out this tutorial, Essential Oil Bath Salts with Empty Bottles, on how to make your empty essential oil bottles go even further, by adding them to Epsom salts.

If you don’t have any empty essential oil bottles, obviously you can add several drops of your desired oils to the Epsom salt and mix well.

A few nice relaxing oils include:

Lavender

Orange and Lavender

Lavender and Lemon

Lavender and Frankincense

Eucalyptus

Start with 1 cup of Epsom salt. You can also use Himalayan pink salt or Dead Sea salt. Then add 2-3 drops of oil and mix. Start with this small amount of essential oil, and if it’s not strong enough, you can always add more until you’re happy with the strength.

Pour into a small mason jar with a tightly fitted lid to keep fragrance fresh. You can add a handmade label and/or some ribbon to fancy up the jar!

Relaxing Music for Mom to Listen to In Her Hot Soak

Does anyone else listen to cds? We sure do in this family. We have cd players, in the house and in our car, and of course you can play on in your dvd player or computer. If your mom is still old school like we are, a lovely music selection could be a perfect Mother’s Day gift!

Here are some favorite scripture music selections!
