Learn how to make a delicious and spicy cup of Immune Supporting Thieves Tea With Thieves Vitality essential oil. This is a great tasting tea, and also a wonderful way to support you body’s natural immune system this winter.

In the winter, it’s especially nice to wrap your fingers around a warm mug and sip something hot.

Winter time is also a time when I like to focus on my immune system and making sure I support my body so that I stay as well as possible!

This yummy tea is a great combination of both of those things.

Warm and Spicy Rooibos Tea with Thieves. Immune supporting winter tea recipe.

Thieves Vitality Essential Oil

Are you familiar with Thieves essential oil?

Young Living’s Thieves and Thieves Vitality (Vitality line of oils is specially labeled for internal use) contains Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus and Rosemary essential oils.

Thieves has a rich, spicy cinnamon aroma. Young Living has many Thieves infused products and it is probably their most popular oil.

Thieves Vitality is known for it’s wonderful wellness benefits, including cleansing, antioxidant properties, immune support and overall wellness support. I love me some Thieves!

{It is not commonly advised for children to consume essential oils. When using essential oils in any manner, please do your own research and follow your own discretion.}

Rooibos Benefits

Rooibos appears to be a treasure trove of nutritional benefit.

I won’t go in to every prospective health benefit here, but suffice it to say the while reading about this tea, I found many sources siting quite a few health benefits including antioxidant value, digestions help, blood sugar balancing effects and much more.

Google health benefits of rooibos and look at some of the reputable sites and see what they have to say, Very interesting stuff!

I will be upping my family’s servings of rooibos going forward, that’s for sure!

Ingredients For Warm and Spicy Thieves Tea:

  • Hot water
  • Rooibos tea, loose or in bags (You can also use black tea, rooibos is just my favorite. It’s caffeine free and has a slightly sweet, nutty flavor I really enjoy.)
  • Thieves Vitality essential oil
  • honey
  • salt
  • cinnamon
  • granny smith apple (When a thin apple ring is placed in the hot tea, it adds a lovely flavor. After a bit, it is delicious to eat… Soft and warm and spicy!)

Warm and Spicy Rooibos Thieves Tea. Keep healthy and warm this winter.

Making Your Immune Supporting Thieves Tea:

  • Bring your water to a boil.
  • I use loose leaf rooibos and a french press like this one. You can also use tea bags if you you have them.
  • Steep your tea leaves for a few minutes until tea is rich in color. (If using tea bags, steep your tea in a separate cup or a teapot.)
  • In the cup you are drinking from, place a tiny pinch of salt. Then add 1 (only 1!! It’s STRONG) drop of Thieves Vitality essential oil.
  • Next, add your honey. Mix the salt and oil and honey together well with a spoon.
  • Now, pour your hot tea into the cup, stirring it well to combine everything.
  • Gently place a thinly sliced granny smith apple ring on top of the tea and sprinkle with cinnamon.

Why salt?

Oil and water don’t mix, and you don’t want to take a big swig of oil. The salt acts as somewhat of an emulsifier, to distribute the essential oil through the tea a bit better.

Warm and spicy hot tea with Thieves essential oil. Warm up and support your immune system this winter with a cup of this!

  • 1 tsp rooibos tea or 1 rooibos teabag
  • 1-2 tsp honey
  • 1 pinch himalayan pink, sea, or earth salt Good quality salt
